For May 2022, substitute teachers with NO CANCELLATIONS and who qualify as outlined below, will be paid on June 10, 2022.  The May tiered substitute teacher bonus incentives are as follows:

  • 18 days worked = $300
  • 15 days worked = $180
  • 12 days worked = $120
  • 9 days worked = $60

Benefit eligible substitute teachers working full time at various schools throughout the Jordan School District, DO NOT QUALIFY for the monthly substitute teacher bonus incentives, since they are required to work every school (contract) day.

WGU Heroes Wanted Scholarship FlyerTeachers Appreciation week is quickly approaching and WGU wants to help celebrate.  WGU is hosting an enter-to-win giveaway where a handful of winning schools will receive either a new coffee maker or popcorn machine for their breakroom.  The website to enter can be found here.  The drawing will be held during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 2–6.

We are in desperate need of summer help with our grounds crew and custodial assistant help.  Please help us find some great students who are looking for summer jobs, or graduating students who are looking for full time jobs by sharing the attached flyers with with you might feel would be interested in employment.  Also, please post in areas of visibility in your schools.

Growing up well and fit, children and teens (ages six to 17) need to get regular moderate- to vigorous-intensity aerobic activity preferably daily, as recommended by the American Heart Association and the CDC.
  • Defining Diet Culture - If you’ve ever felt guilty about enjoying dessert or worked out to burn off a heavy meal, you’ve been affected by diet culture. Defined as “the belief that body size is more important than physical, psychological and general well-being,” diet culture convinces you that rigid control of your diet is somehow normal, and that only skinny bodies are acceptable.
  • Build Strong Work Relationships - What’s the value in getting along with our coworkers? The more confident we feel with our coworkers, the more assured we can feel voicing opinions and accepting new ideas. This level of teamwork can help us support work guidelines and frequent change and remain innovative.
  • Dealing with Loneliness - It’s normal to feel lonely sometimes, but ongoing loneliness is different. It’s the distressing feeling of being separated from others that’s often triggered by having few people to interact with regularly. Many things can cause loneliness: moving to a new city, a relationship breakup, the death of a close friend or relative, isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, or even long-term telecommuting.

Dear Employees,

The Jordan School District Board of Education has approved changing the scheduled Flex Friday on Friday, April 29 to a Professional Development Day for teachers. This day will be structured for teachers to have additional preparation time, professional development, and training.

This will be a regular contract day for all employees, unless you have made other arrangements with your supervisor.

There will be no classes or school services for students on Friday, April 29. No lunch service or busing will be provided.

LETRS Unit 2 (60077)
For teachers in grades K-3. Below is the information about Unit 2. The last virtual session for Unit 2 will be held on May 25. Many of these sections for the months of March, April and May are either extremely low or have no enrollment whatsoever.

Please sign up for a Unit 2 virtual session ASAP because some of these sessions may be canceled by the state. Thank you for your attention in this matter.

Continuing the conversation of being curious, intentional and united, we invite you to attend this half-day conference to learn from students and parents on how we can better engage with them.

The 2022 What I Wish You Knew Conference will be held on March 25, from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m at Copper Hills High. The keynote will be given by Sarah Noll Wilson, author of Don't Feed the Elephants: Overcoming the Art of Avoidance to Build Powerful Partnerships.

It is time again for the Elementary Social Studies Newsletter!  This month you can find some resources for Women’s History Month, geography vocabulary, and financial literacy for younger grades. There are also some 3rd grade social studies activities that are tied to literacy standards.

You will find some informational texts that could be used in your Walk to Read Enrichment groups or with the entire class.  You will find: Mountains (1st grade), Currency (2nd grade), Northern Lights (3rd grade), Seraph Young: The First Woman to Vote(4th grade), Seward’s Folly (5th Grade), and The Silk Road (6th grade).
